Sunday, September 1, 2013- Another day of Exploration!

On Sunday, we headed out to another day of exploration of the area around Sandusky.  We were told that Marblehead and Port Clinton had some neat things to see, so we headed in that direction.

Our first place to stop was a train museum, it was relatively inexpensive and we knew Christian would love it! It is funny because he is the only one that got in free!

This place had 45 electric trains running and many, many scenery sets in one big room. It was pretty amazing!

Hwew is just once scene from many that were set up there, if you look closely, you can see it's a winter scene with trees and people skiing down a hill!

Here is another picture of the kids looking at a set.  I love how they take an interest in the things he likes! Courtney is actually explaining to him how it works.

Next we headed to Marblehead, we knew they had a lighthouse there and I wanted to see a lighthouse before I left this section of Ohio!

Isn't this lighthouse gorgeous? (You can see Megan in the bottom of the picture.)  It was built in 1821 and is still in use today! The area around it is a state park, so it was really busy that day!

Along the coast, there were huge rocks and the kids had a great time climbing around on them. And to prove that I really am on this trip, here is a picture of Christian and I along the shore!

After we finished at the lighthouse, we headed over to Port Clinton and explore a state park and a local beach.  We wish we would've gotten camp spots there, the beach was gorgeous!

Again, we headed home, went swimming, ate dinner, and did three more loads of laundry! Courtney helped me do laundry and we had huge spiders spinning webs right above our heads. Courtney and I got freaked out quite a bit, so Matt went to the laundry area and got my clothes for me. :)
