Obviously I haven't had time to add pictures to my NYC post yet. Let alone finish blogging about NYC, then Philadelphia, then Gettysburg, and now Washington DC. It might just have to wait until we get home. We'll see what happens.
Yesterday we headed in about 1 and headed to the Library of Congress and checked that out. We missed the tour, so we did a self-guided tour. :)
Then we headed over to the Supreme Court and got there just in time to get into the courtroom and hear a half hour lecture on the Supreme Court! Wow! What an amazing place!
Then we were getting hungry, so our next stop was food! I cannot believe there aren't more eating establishments in DC! I bet we walked a half a mile and stopped 2-3 different places before we found something! It was exhausting. (
One of those stops was Air and Space Museum along the mall. They have a place to eat, but they were already closing. Our next stop was the Pavillion at the Old Post office, they said they were open until 7:30 and they had a food court, but once we got in there at 5:45, all the food places were closed! Matt kept seeing a Subway, so he was all about that, but Christian, Courtney, and I were not. We ended up at Mcdonalds. Megan and Matt went to get Subway, so we ended up splitting up for supper.
By the time we were done eating, it was getting dark and we were right by the White House, so we went and saw that all lit up! It was beautiful!
On the way back to the subway, we walked by the Washington Monument at night! We took a long way back to the subway and came home.
Back to DC today, I think our goal is the Natural History Museum, the National Archives, and Ford's Theatre.
Sunday will be our last day in DC and I think we are going to see the monuments and Arlington National Cemetery and maybe the Pentagon. I'm sure I am forgetting something.
Then we head home!
