There are actually people in our country who oppose Columbus Day! If you read through this article you will understand why!
As we talk about Columbus Day tomorrow, I am going to have the girls debate this topic!
This reminds me of the day we spent in Plymouth, Massachusetts last month. There is actually a plaque on a rock in Plymouth where Native Americans hold a National Day of Mourning every single year on the US Thanksgiving holiday! It sits just up the hill from Plymouth Rock. The Native Americans don't like it that the explorers ever came to this continent and ruined their way of life!
